New York challenges boundaries and eras, uniting a metropolis in one unique cultural encounter
In Manhattan, SoHo is a curious example of this. Boutiques, international brands, and art galleries all compose one of the most interesting places in the city.
That was where Melissa found its ideal habitat. Behind the facade of a traditional NYC building, art meets fashion in an environment thought up by designer Muti Randolph.
It's a space made to change, to receive exhibitions, installations and guest artists. I have sought, within the characteristics of the spaces and the city, to create fixed elements that serve as a support for art.
Our first official presence on North American soil, Galleria Melissa NYC opened its doors in 2012. In 2017 it changed addresses and was reinaugurated with the exhibition "The Future of Her" from artists Sam Cannon and Signe Pierce. Curatorship was done by Kelsey and Remy Bennett.
