Total Success! Aileron in London!

The second model from the Melissa + Gareth Pugh partnership is causing pure excitement across the world!

In november, Aileron was the star at the Layers party, a hyper-cool concept store in London where Pugh also sells his main collection. The boutique’s located among other high-profile stores such as Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, on an important street that gets lots of traffic! Invited guests were enveloped in sound that came from a DJ collaboration between Princess Julia — London nightlife icon and music editor at i-D magazine — and Richard Mortimer, the brains behind PonyStep (a collective that’s a mix of magazine, music and fashion) and who heads the famous Boombox night in London and Paris.
In a cauldron of styles that could only happen in London, the launch saw the presence of top names (besides our dear Pugh) from the cultural and design scene as well as longtime partners Judy Blame and J. Maskrey (both totally amazing with their tons of accessories), Love publisher Phoebe Arnold, photographer Marco Righo, stylists Neil Stuart and Chadd Curry (wearing a ghostly outfit), the jewelry designer Marcelle Lawson Smith, and a ton of fashionable, eccentric, conservative and alternative partygoers (see the photos). Also, the incredible hostess Cozette McCreery helped make the party what it was — she became famous because of her nights at Boombox!

Besides the party that hit Big Ben town until the wee hours, the Aileron’s release was featured on important style sites, such as Style, Italian and British Vogue, DNA Footwear and Brazil’s FFW site. In the media, the shoe has become known as “plastic armor” for the feet of fashionistas everywhere.

Seeing things from this angle, then, the style battle seems to have a new weapon!
